ACMT's 2009 Summer Camp Schedule is here!

Get ready for another fun filled summer of magical theatre! ACMT summer camps provide entertainment fun for small kids and medium kids alike. There’s something new for everyone, whether you’re serious about theatre or just want to have a great, fun camp experience.

Most camps run 1 week (Broadway Classics runs 3 weeks). ALL CAMPS will be held at First Christian Church on 2441 San Jose Ave. in Alameda, CA.

Song and Dance Camp (1-week camp for ages 7 - 9 & ages 10 - 13), $250 ($225 before 4/1/2009) choice of three sessions

June 15 - 19, Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-3:00pm or

Always a favorite! Work with directors and choreographers to rehearse and bring to life some of the most memorable and best songs and scenes from your favorite Broadway shows. Put on a wonderful variety show for family and friends at the end of the week.

Introduction to Theatre/Intermediate Theatre: Light Up the Stage (1-week camp for ages 5 - 9), $250 ($225 before 4/1/2009), choice of three sessions- NEW SESSION ADDED!

August 24 - 28, Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-3:00pm

Creative youth will delight in stage experiences including basics of theatre, voice and movement, stage presence, improv, theatre games, singing, and rehearsing. The entire camp will take the stage with a performance for family and friends on the last day of camp.

Theatre Costume and Make-Up Camp (1-week camp for ages 5 - 9), $250 ($225 before 4/1/2009)

June 29 - July 2, Mon.-Thurs. 9:00am-3:00pm

It's time to dress up and take the stage. Youth ages 5 - 9 will enchant in make-up and costume experiences that will follow a different theme each day. The entire camp will take the stage with a colorful showcase for family and friends on THURSDAY the last day of camp. (No camp on Friday, July 3!)

Broadway Classics: Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr. **Important Note: The show is loosely based on a movie with Julie Andrews, and this movie version is not suitable for younger children. But the full length play, and Jr. version are both entirely appropriate.

(3-week camp for ages 8 - up), $585 ($535 before 4/1/2009)

July 20 - August 7, Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-3:00pm

Come make tradition with us! Participants will be part of a full production from start to finish. They will audition for roles, intensively rehearse, learn theatre games and exercises, work on sets, props, and costumes, culminating in a grand performance for family and friends.

Summer School of Rock Camp (1-week camp for ages 9 - up), $250 ($225 before 4/1/2009)

August 17- 21, Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-3:00pm

Back by popular demand! Join other young rockers for a fun adventure where you'll play an instrument, work on new and original songs, and put on a rockin' concert for family and friends at the end of the week. (Must be relatively familiar with playing an instrument and reading music.)

Email julia@acmtkids.org for an enrollment form, and reserve your space today. Don't delay- sessions may fill up quickly. Or mail your registration to ACMT Summer Camps, PO Box 2378, Alameda, CA 94501, and include a 50% deposit for each session requested. Checks should be made payable to ACMT.

After you register, you will receive email confirmation, a packet of informational materials, and emergency and release forms through email. The balance of tuition will be due on the first day of camp with signed emergency and release forms. Deposit is not refundable after June 1.

Need-based scholarships are available. Please let us know if you would like a scholarship application form.

If a camp session does not reach minimum sign-ups, it may be canceled in which case you will be given prior notice and a chance to enroll in an alternate camp as available. Minimum and maximum enrollment varies per session.

Before and/or after care is available at $8.00/hour and should be arranged with an instructor on the first day of camp.
