ACMT's 2008 Summer Camp Schedule is here!

Get ready for another fun filled summer of magical theatre! ACMT summer camps provide entertainment fun for small kids and medium kids alike. There’s something new for everyone, whether you’re serious about theatre or just want to have a great, fun camp experience.

Most camps run 1 week and will be held at First Christian Church on 2441 San Jose Ave. in Alameda, CA (Our Broadway Classics will run 3 weeks and be held at Rhythmix Cultural Works at 2513 Blanding Ave. in Alameda, CA.)

Song and Dance Camp (1-week camp for ages 7 - 9 & ages 10 - 13), $250 ($225 before 4/1/2008) choice of three sessions

June 16 - 20, Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-3:00pm or

July 7 - 11, Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-3:00pm or

August 11 - 15, Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-3:00pm

Always a favorite! Work with directors and choreographers to rehearse and bring to life some of the most memorable and best songs and scenes from your favorite Broadway shows. Put on a wonderful variety show for family and friends at the end of the week.

Introduction to Theatre: Light Up the Stage (1-week camp for ages 5 - 9), $250 ($225 before 4/1/2008), choice of two sessions

June 23 - 27, Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-3:00pm or

August 4 - 8, Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-3:00pm

Creative youth will delight in stage experiences including basics of theatre, voice and movement, stage presence, improv, theatre games, singing, and rehearsing. The entire camp will take the stage with a performance for family and friends on the last day of camp.

Theatre Costume and Make-Up Camp (1-week camp for ages 5 - 9), $250 ($225 before 4/1/2008)

June 30 - July 3, Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-3:00pm

It's time to dress up and take the stage. Youth ages 5 - 9 will enchant in make-up and costume experiences that will follow a different theme each day. The entire camp will take the stage with a colorful showcase for family and friends on the last day of camp. (No camp on July 4, but come march in parade with ACMT!)

Shakespeare Is Fun(ny) (1-week camp for ages 9 - up), $250 ($225 before 4/1/2008)

July 7 - 11, Mon.-Thurs. 9:00am-3:00pm

Learn the beginning craft of Shakespearian drama in costumes, including stage combat, and perform from a choice of scenes from Shakespeare's comedies.

Broadway Classics: Fiddler on The Roof Jr. (3-week camp for ages 8 - up), $585 ($535 before 4/1/2008)

July 14 - August 1, Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-3:00pm

Come make tradition with us! Participants will be part of a full production from start to finish. They will audition for roles, intensively rehearse, learn theatre games and exercises, work on sets, props, and costumes, culminating in a grand performance for family and friends.

Summer School of Rock Camp (1-week camp for ages 9 - up), $250 ($225 before 4/1/2008)

August 18 - 22, Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-3:00pm

Back by popular demand! Join members of a college band for a fun adventure where you’ll play an instrument, work on new and original songs, and put on a rockin' concert for family and friends at the end of the week.

Email for an enrollment form, and reserve your space today. Don't delay- sessions may fill up quickly. Or mail your registration to ACMT Summer Camps, PO Box 2378, Alameda, CA 94501, and include a $100 deposit for each session requested. Checks should be made payable to ACMT.

After you register, you will receive email confirmation, a packet of informational materials, and emergency and release forms through email. The balance of tuition will be due on June 1st with signed emergency and release forms to hold your child's place in camp. Deposit is not refundable after June 1.

Need-based scholarships are available. Please let us know if you would like a scholarship application form.

If a camp session does not reach minimum sign-ups, it may be canceled in which case you will be given prior notice and a chance to enroll in an alternate camp as available. Minimum and maximum enrollment varies per session.

Before and/or after care is available at $8.00/hour.
