Can't Wait for Auditions? Sign-up for 2010 Summer Camps!

The production of Ramona Quimby was fun for the actors and audience alike. For information about future auditions and other ACMT programs, please send an email to emailupdates@acmtkids.org. ACMT respects your privacy and will only use your email address for communicating ACMT information.

Now is a good time to sign-up for one of our Summer Camps to keep your theatrical skills sharp! Song and Dance camp is for ages 9-11 (July 19-23 and/or August 2-6). Intro to Theatre Camp is for ages 6-9 (July 26-30 and/or August 9-13). Each camp costs $250 per child with before/after care available for $8/hour. The camps are located in a large performance room at First Christian Church, 2441 San Jose Avenue in Alameda, CA. If you'd like to register for a Summer Camp, or if you'd like more information, email julia@acmtkids.org as soon as possible.

Information For Future ACMT Shows (The following information is NOT relevant to Summer Camps; it is provided to inform you about details applicable to future productions):
Audition Requirements for Shows (not applicable to Summer Camps): Actors range in age from 7 to 17 years old. To prepare for the audition, please come in comfortable clothing. You can bring a resume and headshot if you have one, but it's not necessary at all. Come prepared with a calendar or other documents you can use to fill out a conflict schedule. Audition readings will be from the script. Also please bring a one to three minute comic monologue if possible. It does not need to be memorized.

Rehearsal Schedule for Shows (not applicable to Summer Camps): Rehearsals will usually start on the Saturday after auditions. Typically, we will rehearse 2 nights a week (usually Mondays and Thursdays) as well as on Saturday afternoons. Note: Actors do not attend every rehearsal -- dates are determined by the role as well as conflict schedules.

Tuition for Shows (not applicable to Summer Camps): Varies from $175/$275/$425 depending on number of hours each actor's family is able to devote to tasks such as costuming/set building/concessions, etc. Each family is asked to also find a business in the community to sponsor the production as well as sell approximately 10 tickets.

Our Director: The Director for each show varies. For the production of Ramona Quimby, it was Julia Bruce, who has directed several shows for ACMT, including "The Music Man", "Pippi Longstocking", and "Charlotte's Web". Julia has also directed our summer camps and taught many of our classes.
